For the collective labour agreement for the road transport sector the salaries will increase by a total of 4.1% on 1 January 2009 and by another 0.9% on 1 October 2009?

Transport and Logistics Netherlands (Transport en Logistiek Nederland - TLN), the Royal Dutch Association of Transport Companies (Koninklijk Nederlands Vervoer - KNV) and the Association for Vertical Transport (Vereniging Verticaal Transport - VVT) have again negotiated with the FNV Bondgenoten (FNV) and CNV BedrijvenBond (CNV) trade unions about the new collective labour agreement for the road transport sector. This collective labour agreement covers 150,000 employees.

The employers have made a final offer that will result in a total increase in salary of 5% on the basis of the collective labour agreement during the period of its validity. Employers believe that the maximum has been achieved in the current economic climate.

The specifications of the offer are as follows:
 - Period of validity of the agreement: 1 October 2008 to 31 December 2009
 - Salary increase:
 - as per 1 January 2009: 3.5%
 - as per 1 October 2009: 0.9%
 - Contribution to health care insurance: as per 1 January 2009:
   0.6% of the social security contribution salary
 

The Austrian toll increased by 20% on 1 May 2008. Here is an overview of the charges that now apply in Austria. 
 - Vehicle with two axles: 0.158 euro per km
 - Vehicle with three axles: 0.2212 euro per km
 - Vehicle with four or more axles: 0.3318 per km. (SA)
 

The toll in France increased by a total of 10% in 2008. The last increase (3.5%) was on 1 October.

 
The LSVA (toll) in Switzerland will increase by 15% on 1 January 2009 for the Euro 3 class.

The Swiss government has definitively set the planned LSVA charges for 2008 and 2009 as follows. This increase brings the charges up to the highest possible charges that are permitted according to the Treaty between the EU and Switzerland. You will find an overview below.

As from 1-1-2008:
 - Category 1: 3.07 Rappen/tonne/per kilometre for EURO 0, 1 and 2
 - Category 2: 2.26 Rappen/tonne/per kilometre for EURO 3
 - Category 3: 2.26 Rappen/tonne/per kilometre for EURO 4, 5 and 6

As from 1-1-2009:
 - Category 1: 3.07 Rappen/tonne/per kilometre for EURO 0, 1 and 2
 - Category 2: 2.66 Rappen/tonne/per kilometre for EURO 3
 - Category 3: 2.26 Rappen/tonne/per kilometre for EURO 4, 5 and 6
